Gavin Newsom for Mayor

Time for something of less import. This clown is running for Mayor of San Francisco. It's a case of give-the-gift-that-keeps-on-giving, he asks recipients to spam their friends by forwarding the message.

The person who submitted this to me writes "this is not my party, not my city, not my county even and it was sent to my work address which i have rarely given out!".

As I don't yet know the party, I'm putting this under Independent/Niche for the moment. I've asked the submitter to let me know the name of the city and Gavin's party affiliation so I can complete the documentation. I have also asked him to try and provide full email headers, so I can characterize who the vendor who sent this is in more detail.

"Great Cities" Launches
Tonight

The Gavin Newsom for Mayor campaign launches its "Great Cities,
Great Ideas" series tonight with a presentation by author Ted
Gaebler, who is acknowledged as one of the intellectual parents of the
"reinventing government" movement.

The forum begins 7:00 p.m. at the Regency Center, 1290 Sutter Street at
Van Ness Avenue. The forum is a fundraiser for the Newsom for Mayor
Campaign. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $15 for seniors and
students. If you have already made the maximum contribution to the
campaign, please come as our guest.

Newsom, who has pledged that his administration will be marked by its
"humility in the face of good ideas," will be on hand to help
lead the discussion. The forums will continue during the campaign with
evenings dedicated to city planning, school reform, economic development
and other vital topics.

Newsom Calls Small Business Key to
Recovery

Gavin Newsom this week called the city's small business community the
"key to economic recovery" and vowed to make it easier for
small businesses in San Francisco to "create jobs for our residents
and do business with our city."

Newsom noted that nearly 90% of businesses enterprises in San Francisco
are defined as small businesses, and together they provide more than half
of the jobs in the city.

His plan released this week calls for streamlining city regulations that
prevent many small businesses from working with the city, promoting the
creation of Business Improvement Districts and making sure small business
has a broad voice in his administration.
